This study explores how climate finance can promote affordable housing and low-carbon concrete blocks in Tanzania. It identifies key barriers and proposes the Sofonias Climate Construction Accelerator (SCCA) to help validate, finance, and scale sustainable construction solutions.

Low-Carbon Cement: LC3 Studies in Uruguay and Senegal

As part of a project submitted to the Klik Foundation and supported by GIZ, Sofonias Group and EcoSur Network are conducting a comprehensive feasibility study for implementing LC3 cement in Uruguay.

Advances in Decarbonizing Construction in Mexico

In August 2024, Grupo Sofonias specialists collaborated with Habitat for Humanity Mexico and Holcim Mexico to promote LC3 cement, a low-carbon material for more sustainable housing and reduced CO₂ emissions.

LC3 Technology Resource Center for Latin America in Cuba

The main goal is to combat climate change by introducing greener cement in Latin America through technical support for producers and the creation of mechanisms for economically successful and sustainable production.
